My Next Move!!!!

Dancing is definitely a passion of mine! Anything that has dance in it is always exciting for me! It's my senior year of college and I have to make a major decision: Performing or Teaching?? As much as I love performing, teaching is very important because Dance is an art that gets mistreated! Everyone can dance, but everyone can't be an art! It's important to start early, and I am so eager to teach! On the other hand, I feel there is more to know, to experience! And I don't want to miss that! It's definitely an opportunity to become an even better dance than i am!

So far, I have been auditioning:
Disney Resorts and Cruiseline (made it all the way thru the audition)
Royal Caribbean Cruiseline (actually got a deal)
Whole Heart Productions (made the company)
"Step It Up" (reality dance show; made it to the interview round)
And there are more to come....

We'll see.....

Competitive Dancing: Yea or Nea??

I have been in a heated discussion with some people about competitive dancing.

Some say:

  • "Competitive dancing takes the "art" out of dance; it's no longer looked at as something pleasurable, but just a reason to beat someone."
  • "Its not about Technique, its about Tricks!"
  • " Competitive Dancers have the WORST Technique!"

While others say:

  • "Competitive Dancing gives you an adrenaline rush!"
  • "Competitive Dancing gives you more of a reason to ENFORCE your technique"
  • "With Competitive Dancing you learn more about what your body is capable of doing!"
  • "Competitive Dancing improves your showmanship!!!"
I have my own personal thoughts of this issue, but let me know what you think!!!!!!

IS DANCE FOR EVERYONE?

What do you think it takes to be a Dancer?

Alot of people mislead dancing for something that so easy! And that's definitely not the case! Dancers have to be just as athletic as a football player, if not more! So for all of you bloggers out there, What makes a fantastic Dancer??
